Cuba: Bee Hummingbird

A quick post to co-incide with the visit of Prince Charles and Camilla to Cuba.

These photos were taken recently (early March) during two visits to a back garden specially set up for hummingbird viewing in the Zapata Swamp region of Cuba.
The Bee Hummingbird is just wonderful.  It is endemic to Cuba and now quite rare.  The male is slightly smaller than the female and is offically the world's smallest bird.
Only the male has the dazzling feathers around the head and throat.  When they catch the sunlight, wow!
